Overview

Challenge

Ticketmaster and Live Nation sought to create a promotional video capturing the creation of five unique murals at MetLife Stadium. Initially envisioning a simple GoPro time-lapse approach, the challenge was to deliver a high-impact video that fully conveyed the cultural significance and artistry behind each mural. The project needed to meet the high visibility demands of a major venue like MetLife Stadium, home to iconic teams and global concerts.

Approach

MultiVision Digital stepped in to elevate the scope of the project beyond basic time-lapses. The team collaborated closely with Ticketmaster and Live Nation, expanding the vision to include dynamic shots, artist interviews, and visually captivating moments. By scaling up the crew, gear, and creative direction, MultiVision ensured the final video would tell a compelling story, highlight the artists’ journeys, and create an emotional connection with viewers.

Bringing the Murals to Life

Each mural at MetLife Stadium, envisioned by local artists, represents a different part of the NYC metropolitan area. The video had to capture not only the finished artwork but also the intricate process behind its creation. Using dolly shots, gimbals, drones, and POV time-lapses, the team captured the murals in stunning detail, blending static and fluid shots to immerse viewers in the creative process. Interviews with the artists added depth, allowing them to share their inspirations and unique stories.

Planning for Logistics

Pre-production planning was crucial, as some murals were enclosed in plastic sheeting due to the use of spray paint, limiting camera space. MultiVision Digital adapted by incorporating gimbals for smooth dolly shots in tight spaces and GoPros to capture the intricate work through faux walls of plexiglass. The team ensured that all technical and logistical challenges were addressed, guaranteeing beautifully executed shots and flawless coverage of each mural’s creation process.

Behind the scenes

Get a glimpse into the production process behind the Ticketmaster mural project at MetLife Stadium. It reveals how the MultiVision Creative team worked closely with local artists to capture the creation of five murals, each representing the character of the NYC metro area.

The video highlights the tools and techniques used to film the project, from drone shots providing aerial views of the stadium to gimbal movements that follow the intricate details of the artwork. Through careful planning and collaboration, the production team successfully documented the journey of these artists and their work.

Elevating the Production

Rather than settling for a simple time-lapse, the project grew to include a wider range of visual elements. A drone operator provided external and internal shots of the stadium, while audio and lighting equipment were brought in to enhance artist interviews. The investment in a larger production team and more sophisticated gear resulted in a visually striking, multifaceted video that brought both the stadium and the art to life.
